Most chalet weeks run Saturday to Saturday, so Saturday is when everyone arrives and leaves at once. At Chambéry that means tight slots, a busy ramp and heavy traffic on the valley road. Arriving on a Friday or leaving on a Sunday, where the chalet allows it, makes the whole day easier.
The weather is the other variable. Chambéry sits in a valley where low cloud can settle, and when it does the approach is not always possible.
